Frequently Asked Questions

Please see below answers to most of our frequently asked questions. However, please always feel free to get in touch with us and we will do our best to answer any questions you may have.

There are many great suppliers out there dojng great things. What we focus on at The Miniature Country Club is ensuring we provide a elegant feel to your drinks reception or event, fitting in with your theme and venue.

Slightly different to the majority of suppliers in our area, we fully host the event at all times. So you aren't just hiring equipment and games, you are hiring TMCC staff to host the event, keep the games looking elegant at all times and engage with your guests.

When you book with us, we guide that you hire us for either an afternoon or an evening - so what does this mean?

We will endeavour to fit into your day and your schedule where possible. A standard 'afternoon' hire where the Ceremony is set for c.1.00-1.30pm, followed by a 1.5-2 hour Drinks Reception (usually c.2-4pm) will mean we will arrive onsite at between 10.00-11.00am to set the course up. This ensures that we aren't moving around or setting up during your ceremony. An added bonus can be that guests who arrive early/pre-ceremony have the opportunity to have a play before the day kicks off (depending on the venue set up and if you & they so wish!). You then get 1.5 - 2.5 hours of play during the Drinks Reception before we pack the course up while you eat and enjoy your Wedding Breakfast.

This means we are onsite for c.6-7 hours between 11am and 5pm. This will be flexible depending on your plans, so just drop us a message and feel free to ask. Bookings that will need us onsite for 8 hours+ usually attract an additional hourly fee of +£100 p/h.

To book The Miniature Country Club for your event, you will need to follow these steps:

  1. Contact us using our enquiry form detailing the location, date, times, size of the event and any other useful information
  2. We'll get back to you with our availability and whether the venue has been pre-approved or not. If the venue has not been pre-approved, you will need to make sure they have the required space,  it is flat and the venue allows mini golf course and confirm this to us.
  3. We will set up an initial discovery call to discuss your event and fully understand your plans, any additional information you want us to know and confirm details included on the Enquiry Form.
  4. We'll email you a copy of our Booking Form and Contract. Please make sure you read The Miniature Country Club's Rules and our Contract as you'll have to agree to them before making a booking request.
  5. If you want to proceed, return the finalised Booking Form and signed Contract to reserve the date for 72 hours. Pay 25% of the total invoice as your deposit within 72 hours to secure the booking. If payment is not received within the 72 hours then the date will become available for others to book.  Note: the 25% deposit is deducted from your final payment which is due 60 days prior to the event.
  6. Nearer the date of the event (30-45 days before), we will schedule a final planning call so you have a chance to confirm any questions you have and the finer details of where we will set up and any details for our set up (e.g. drinks on the bar / Halfway House etc.)

Depending upon the venue, it may be that the drinks reception area and the early evening entertainment area are in different parts of the same venue and we may need to move the course. We are willing to move the course during the wedding breakfast within the grounds of the same venue. The fee for moving the course varies dependent on a number of factors. Please contact us for bespoke quote for this.

While a driver can come in useful for adding distance to your game, it's probably not required on a 6-12 foot hole. So in short, no.

For the course to be setup successfully at your venue, the location needs to be flat and horizontal to allow for good play of the course itself. We require an area of approximately 8 x 8 metres to set up our 9 hole miniature  golf course; with any additional games you include in your package needing further space outside of this too. We must be able to have good access with our van to the set up location so we can unload easily and make sure the course is fully ready for all of your guests to enjoy.

If you have less space we can build tailored packages with fewer holes to fit the area, a 6 hole course can be just as fun!

The Miniature Country Club provides the rental of the course and garden games and host the course for the duration of the event. This is to allow clear direction to your guests and provide a seamless operation, making sure your event runs smoothly.

Our Country Club is based in Milton Keynes which gives us a lovely central location to cover a lot of Mainland UK.  The prices shown on the website are based on the event location being within a 25 mile radius of Milton Keynes.. There is a 45p/mile fuel surcharge thereafter. If your event is a significant distance away, this may incur additional travel costs if we require to stay nearby the night before.

Once we receive your booking form, we will send you an invoice confirming your package and any extras. A 25% of this total needs to be paid within 72 hours to secure the date as a deposit. The deposit is deducted from your final balance. An invoice for the final Payment is sent out 45 days before the event. Note that bookings made with less than 45 days until the event will require payment in full to secure the date. Please note we also require a security deposit of £250 to be paid at your final payment. This will be returned to you within 5 days of your event finishing; however please understand that your security deposit may not be returned if any loss, damage, or theft of the equipment occurs during the hire period and further action may be taken if damages are extensive.

The Miniature Country Club is covered by £5,000,000 Public Liability Insurance, and carry the schedule along with our Risk Assessment documents with us to all events. If a venue require proof beforehand, please email us and we will forward you relevant documents. The Miniature Country Club is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage caused by the use of the equipment hired or the set up of the equipment hired. This includes any damage due to errant balls, putters etc. from activities it provides.

You will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment hired from The Miniature Country club is used in a safe and appropriate manner. You will also be liable for any loss, damage, or theft of the equipment during the hire period. Your security deposit may not be returned if any loss, damage, or theft of the equipment occurs during the hire period and further action may be taken if damages are extensive. However, we do fully understand that some minor wear and tear may occur simply from use of the course and this is always taken into consideration.

We are proud to offer a 15% discount throughout the year for Blue Light Card holders, we'll require a copy of the card to be sent to our email address to confirm this and then will deduct the 15% from your invoice. This cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount codes.

Richard is in the top 20% of golfers worldwide, playing off a handicap of 8 at his local club. He plays Mini Golf twice a month, but holds no handicap that is officially recognised by any professional body.

Rachel doesn't play golf, but living with Richard she lives and breathes the game. When playing Richard at mini golf, Rachel has a handicap of 10... with Richard playing off scratch. It gets quite competitive.

For days where there are showers in the area, we do have 2 pop up Gazebos covering 40m/squared. We will work with the venue on how best/when to use these to ensure the event looks it's best.

In conditions of extreme high winds (25mph) or thunder and lightning The Miniature Country Club will have to cease running all hire equipment for safety reasons. We also may have to delay set up during these conditions and may delay until better weather presides.

However,  if The Miniature Country Club is due to be set up outside and inclement weather is forecast for the day, we are very happy to offer complimentary set up in an inside area free of charge to avoid having to stop play and allow your guests to enjoy our activities inside. We know how important it is to have a Plan B with the British weather and we are always more than happy to action this for you!

This happens more often than you think and it can be a super tricky one to approach.

First, ask your playing partner to verify and check their score, then assess if you think they are purposely being dishonest. They may correct their mistake at this point which will avoid conflict. If they don't and still say 2, gently replay their hole to them verbally... for example 'You teed off, missed the 2 foot putt... then tapped in. That's 3, Paul?'.
